forever lounging

I’ve been channeling French women, simply enjoying as I fill up the Brita pitcher, take out the trash, sit and read over coffee. I’ve been buying what I can afford (which is more than I thought), better than what I used to accept. We’ve been having picnics wearing Victoria’s Secret dresses with the tags barely ripped off, and letting the future be where it is (which is at exactly the right moment). Peace is inside a grape, a splurge, silver shoes, shared smiles, accidents, to-do lists, and every time you forget why you walked into a room

Oh, Michael: making me dance since 1988. I’ve been a fan ever since I can remember, although I did discard all your cassettes when my six-year-old mind could not fathom the charges against you. I’ve since reconsidered, and yours is the first album to spin when I’m in the mood to get down.
You might be the only star to make a dance move famous on its own. There is not a single contemporary dance style as iconic and widely known as yours. You’re the working man’s Martha Graham. Gratuitous crotch-grabbing aside, you’ve got criminally smooth moves.
I mourn the loss of your youth, skin color, sanity, reputation, and life. So far I’ve celebrated you by attending an impromptu Moonwalker screening, hosting a 70-mile mobile dance party, and doing everything I possibly can to “ride the boogie”.
May you haunt my dance parties forever.

This is what I wore to go to the Farmers Market for the first time! That place is a different world man. I felt like I was in Hobbiton. (Music, lots of greens, dancing, barefoot kids, kindness abound…) I had brunch with a friend and a stranger, and got a bundle of white daisies for almost free.

If Ms. Brittany doesn’t start her own fashion blog soon, I might have to do it for her. I will re-direct this domain to my new site, BrittanyAwesome.com, and start my career as her personal paparazzi. THIS GIRL IS FIERCE ON THE DAILY. See more evidence here and here and here. She’s totally near the top of my ever-growing Most Fashionable Ladies That Remind Me To Dress Like A Girl list. And she’s so sweet she lets me raid her closet/floor everytime I visit her apartment. Jealous?
UPDATE: Brittany finally started her blog! I love the title, Inspiration Anonymous. Looks like it will include daily outfits as well as her favorites from the runway. Eye candy for days.
de-stylization

tonight i grew my hair long and took out my nose ring
no more bleach or dye or pay-for-puncture
this is the most natural my head has felt in years.
the Applebee’s waitress was right when she said to my candy-stripe-coiffed
14-year-old self: IT’S JUST A PHASE. (at the time
i was highly offended, but i took myself for serious back then)
now i know there’s no use in committing, only
documenting. the only trouble is that invincible ink
